About

The Lebanese Association for Educational Studies (LAES) was founded in 1995 as a professional, non-political, non-profit, association. LAES membership consists of academic scholars and researchers in the field of Education at various universities and academic institutions in Lebanon. The objectives of the Association include :
    • Developing and disseminating educational knowledge
    • Advancing the educational research community in Lebanon
    • Interacting with similar associations in the Arab countries.
    • Contributing to educational development in Lebanon and in the Arab countries LAES seeks to fulfill its objectives through research, documentation and publication and the organization of regional and local seminars and conferences.
LAES has more than 25 published books in the field of Education. The Association engages in activities and projects aligned with its objectives. It cooperates with various parties for the financing of such activities such as the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ford Foundation, the UNESCO Regional Office of the Arab States, UNDP, Institute of International Education, European Union and the World Bank among others.

الهيئة اللبناتية للعلوم التربوية هي جزء من كياني الروحي والعلمي معا، لانني إنخرطت فيها ، بصورة نشطة ومستمرة، منذ ربع قرن تقريبا ، وكانت محطة دائمة في حياتي البحثية حتى صار مقرها كأنه امتداد لبيتي ، وصار الفاعلون فيها إخوة لي ، وخاصة الدكتور المؤسس عدنان الامين الذي واكب ابحاثي وطالما ساندني في مجال الكتابة البحثية
لقد أعطتني الهيئة الكثير من المعرفة والصداقات ، وأعطيتها الكثير من فكري ووجداني ايضا

L’Association Libanaise des Sciences de l’Education est à la fois pour moi une oasis et une agora.
L’oasis que notre langue arabe désigne par le poétique واحة est source d’ombre et de fraîcheur dans le désert. L’image est parlante : dans mon itinéraire pédagogique comme enseignante-chercheuse c’est le lieu où mes soifs de savoir, d’échange et de réflexion sont étanchées. Pour être objective et pragmatique, quand elles ne le sont pas, je ne reste pas, du moins, sur ma soif.
L’agora, cet espace public que l’arabe traduit si bien par ساحة, est le lieu du dialogue où l’opinion personnelle se nourrit et mûrit au contact des points de vue différents; besoin vital et premier de l’intellect et de la pensée, cette dimension dialogique est ce qui a toujours caractérisé cette plateforme.
Chacun et chacune y œuvre, et ce depuis des décades (deux pour moi) pour mieux inscrire les valeurs citoyennes à l’échelle nationale, donc au Liban et dans le monde arabophone.
Il suffit de repasser en vue sa littérature pour comprendre que son passé, vu au présent d’aujourd’hui, est une promesse infaillible de futur. À venir donc.

في الهيئة تعلّمت 
كيف أفكّر، فالتفكير نهج حياة
وكيف أناقش، فطرح الأسئلة فن
وكيف أشبّك، فالتواصل حرفة
وكيف أستفيد من الخبرة لأمكّن غيري
في الهيئة تعلّمت، شغف البحث
وعشت قلق المشاريع واقتراحها
واختبرت دفء العلاقات المهنية على اختلافاتها
واكتشفت أن المشاركة أسلوب حياة
وأن الفرصة حقٌ لكَ وواجب لغيرك عليك
 في الهيئة 
أيقنت أن التربية سياسة
وأن السياسة تصنع الأوطان….
